Cerecs for Christmas

Had a long standing patient of the practice in today to have some nice Cerec veneers done on his front teeth. He has had a consultation with Rita Ahmad and about 10 years ago had some NHS veneers done. They now look past their sell by date and the patient decided to go for it and have nice new shiny ones done for Christmas.

When the new veneers were fitted the patient was over the moon and has gone away delighted.

Joint Treatment

Dr. Rita Ahmad and Dr. Yas Aljubouri have been carrying out some interesting work together recently. Yas is our Orthodontist ans has been helping Rita with some treatment on a patient who is keen to have the perfect smile but unsure of which road to go down.

Should he go for veneers to close the gaps in his mouth or would Orthodontics be the best option?

Both practitioners have seen the patient seperately and together for appointments and a good treatment plan is still being worked out. Xray and study models and diagnostic wax ups have been constructed and at the next appointment the patient is going to decide on the future of his new smile.

Today has been so busy ive hardly even had time to this blog!!

We have had 2 Implant patient & 5 Cerec patients!!

Well its Friday & we are all looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend!!!!!

Our lovely nurse Kerri is off on holidays tomorrow to sunnier climates to glorious Florida!!!

Shes been looking forward to this for almost a year & now it has finally come!!!

Kerri is Mr John Wrights nurse & he is going to miss her her,even though shes only away for 2 weeks!!! So have fun Kerri & dont miss work too much!! lol

Christmas Already ?

You would not believe that we have booked our Christmas night out !

25 members of staff living it up at the Glasgow Hilton !

Cannot belive that now that the schools are going back in Scotland it really is now the run up to Christmas. People are already starting to enquire about gift vouchers for presents.

Our Ultimate tooth whitening package “Enlighten” seems to be on the top of folks Christmas wish lists. We have had a great response in regards to this package and more patients than ever are opting for this rather than other whitening systems we have on offer.

The good thing is that once the patient sees the fantastic results the Enlighten produces they more often than not want to go ahead with other cosmetic treatment.

Veneers are another best seller at Christmas. With our Cerec veneers patients are able to walk out of the surgery on the same day with a whole new smile.

At least we have a few days off after all that hard work to recuperate !

Cerecs for Wedding

Rita had a new patient yesterday looking to have all his old anterior veneers replaced before his Big Day in September. After his initial consultation with Rita where she gave him a full oral health check,she decided it was best to get him into see Heather our Hygienist for a full oral health work out – his teeth were in good working order but his gums were a bit neglected.

Rita and the patient decided that after seeing Heather he was going to start a course of our Ultimate whitening system, Enlighten. This consists of trays being made by Enlighten themselves and them being worn, with whitening gel for 14 nights. On the 15th day or the closest thing to it we would have the patient back into the surgery for an hour course of laser whitening.

When happy with the results of the whitening and when Rita has done some minor fillings in posterior teeth to bring the patient back up to full dental health then the wotk starts on his front veneers.

Patient is very pleased that this work is being carried out and can’t wait to see the results.

A Word From Our New Guy !!

Our new dentist John Wright has been kind enough to write us a wee blog to let us know a bit about himself.

Having completed my science doctorate/PhD in 1991, I felt that a career in dentistry would suit a part of my character which places great importance on paying attention to detail, which in turn leads to successful outcomes. After qualifying in dentistry in 1996 with commendation, I have thoroughly enjoyed life as a dentist and worked in the Glasgow area since then, honing my dental skills along the way. I soon came to the conclusion that preventatively orientated dentistry should be paramount, ‘prevention is better than cure’, and as a result promote several options that are not always available on the NHS system. My belief is that everyone should be given a choice of all up to date treatment and reasonable options available. With this approach in mind I have a specialised interest in the use of white/tooth coloured restoratives as these have been shown to preserve and increase tooth lifespan as opposed to standard fillings. They can be used as an alternative to and also prevent the later need for crowns and veneers as sound tooth structure is maintained in all cases. Also in this ever changing world that is more cosmetically aware, I am able to provide veneers/crowns where appropriate and resin restorative build ups together with the use of Botox anti wrinkle treatment for both young and more senior members of the community. In recent years I have attained a qualification in advanced dental acupuncture, a useful tool which can be used to treat general stress, anxiety, dental jaw muscle pain and those individuals with a prominent gag reflex. What A Day !

Yesterday at the practice was hectic ! The amount of new patients coming in is unbelievable at the moment ! Nahida Roy, Jamie Maguire and Rita Ahmad have new folk coming out of their ears !! Being at the reception desk is a task at the minute. What with the amount of Medical Historys and Smile Menus that hav to be handed out, filled in and then scanned into treatment record cards we seem to be unable to catch up with the rest of our work !

New Veneers

Rita Ahmad had a new patient in last week who had some NHS veneers done a few years ago. She was now unhappy with the work and having saved some money decided to see about having Private work. Rita done an extensive exam and after taking xrays and clinical photographs she and the patient decided on Cerec Veneers. An appointment was made for the whole afternoon. Her veneers were constructed and fitted on the one day and the patient left more than happy with the results.

Another happy customer !!

Veneers ??

Dr Maguire has just seen a new patient for an examination who has substantial spacing in his upper arch. The patient has always been embarassed about this but was unaware that anything could be done. After a lengthy discussion about treatment options the patient is considering veneers. Dr Maguire then took impressions and sent them to the lab to have a diagnostic wax up made so that the patient could see the results that can be achieved. The patient then came in to see the diagnostic wax up and was pleased with the results that could be achieved. Mr Maguire then placed temporary veeners so that the patient could go away and discuss the results with family and friends.
